Puntuk Setumbu is a small hill located about 3 km west of Borobudur Temple. From its summit at dawn you a short 10 minutes’ drive from Plataran to the starting point, continued by 15 minutes of trekking up to the summit. Traditional morning tea and coffee will be served at the summit while you enjoying the view up there.
The Borobudur Temple Compounds is one of can enjoy the mystical panorama of the temple, the surrounding Kedu valley and distant mountain peaks. The trip involves the greatest Buddhist monuments in the world, and was built in the 8th and 9th centuries AD during the reign of the Syailendra Dynasty. The monument is located in the Kedu Valley, in the southern part of Central Java, at the centre of the island of Java, Indonesia.
The
Kraton or called Sultan Palace is a grand complex that was
meticulously planned to reflect the Javanese cosmos. This elegant complex of
pavilions was constructed based on ancient beliefs, of the connection between
the God, human and the natural realms. Each feature holds a special symbolic
meaning related to the Javanese worldview, who considers the importance of
Mount Merapi and The Indian Ocean.
Taman
Sari or called Water Castle is also known as the Garden of the Sultanate, and
consists of several complexes combined into one. It is the traditional Summer
Retreat for the Sultan and his family, although in recent times is really only
a few minutes’ drive from the actual Royal Palace Used by the Sultan to
meditate, rest, work, and for defense of the Royal Family, it has now fallen
mostly into disrepair. This, however, does not diminish its appeal, and is a
wonderful place to visit.
